Leader Named for Talent Recruitment

Dr. Melissa Hurst has returned to The University of Toledo to recruit exceptional leaders to campus.

Hurst will serve as special assistant to the president for strategic talent development effective Aug. 14.

Hurst

Hurst previously served as executive director of talent strategy and development at UToledo, recruiting key leaders to the University to fill vacant and interim positions. She returns to campus from Slone Partners, where she has served as practice leader of healthcare and vice president of executive search since March 2022.

An experienced organizational strategy and executive consultant, Hurst has served as a principal at Korn Ferry and in higher education recruitment and professional development roles at the University of Virginia and the University of South Carolina.

She has a doctorate in educational psychology and research, master of education in higher education administration and bachelor of arts in journalism and mass communications from the University of South Carolina.
